The area around the Spanish Steps, not far from the Congress venue, has the highest concentration of shops in the capital. Here you are going to find high-end brands such as Gucci, Prada and Armani as well as less renowned brands in the smaller, less expensive shops. There is really something for everyone, and yes, this is where Romans go to shop.
Shopping hours are generally Mondays from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm and Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm. Some shops in the city centre and big shopping centres around the city may be open on Sundays. The characteristic open air markets are an integral part of Roman life. Their goods include fresh vegetables, flowers, antics and handcrafts.
